While you are generally only allowed to change your benefits elections during the open enrollment period each year, certain life events provide an exception. Those life events allow you to change your benefits elections in the middle of the plan year if certain requirements are met. You only have 30 days from the date of the life event to make changes. Please notify Ann Till in Human Resources immediately if you experience any life event changes so that she can ensure there is no interruption or error in your benefits. 

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. This month is used to raise awareness of this stigmatized and often taboo topic. Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. Although prevalent, suicidal thoughts shouldn't be accepted as normal because they frequently point to deep, often unaddressed problems.

Don't be afraid to talk about suicide. Surrounding yourself with a support system, you feel connected with can help you through difficulties you may be experiencing. 988 is now also available nationwide to contact for mental health emergencies like suicidal thoughts, drug overdose, and others. 988 provides an easier, quicker way to provide specialized support and care for those going through a mental health crisis.
