Making the Hospital Stay a Little Easier

Eight-year-old Jackson Haag has spent the last 11 weeks at Bronson Children's Hospital after doctors discovered he has cancer in his brain that has spread down his spine. After six surgeries, Jackson is now receiving chemotherapy and radiation five days a week.

Bronson care teams understand what a physically and mentally draining time this is for Jackson and his family, and are there to do everything they can to make the experience better.

Child life specialists, and art and music therapists help patients to cope with their emotions, understand their medical care, and take their mind off of things during long days at the hospital.

These services are supported by funds raised during our annual Bronson Children's Hospital Run & Walk. We hope you'll consider signing up for the Sunday, September 25 event, fundraise, and/or make a donation.

Help us show patients like Jackson that they have a community of supporters rooting them on!

Improving Access for All

Thanks to generous support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Bronson opened new walk-in COVID-19 vaccine stations at each of our four hospitals — Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, Paw Paw and South Haven. The stations are designed to provide easy, free access to patients and visitors in our Emergency Departments and hospitals.

Golfing to Support Patients

The annual Feldpausch Foundation Golf Outing was a fun day to raise funds — $44,630 in total! That money will support the Bronson Cancer Center - Battle Creek Fund which assures patients have access to needed medications, transportation, nourishment, equipment and other special needs. It also boosts the Nattaly Brown Child Life and Expressive Arts Endowment, which provides pediatric patients with art and music therapy, supports the Journey Beads program and more.

Thanks you to all the golfers, sponsors and organizers who helped to make the outing a big success!

The annual Karl Kucab Memorial Golf Outing brought out the generous support of golfers and sponsors. This year's outing raised $50,247 for the Bronson Cancer Treatment Endowment!

The purpose of the endowment is to promote enhanced services and treatment for cancer patients, provide equipment which will assist patients or family care providers, provide respite opportunities, and support staff education and training.

We are so grateful to the Kucab family and everyone who supported the outing. It was a beautiful day on the golf course!

Home Run for Bronson Children's Hospital!

The Kalamazoo Growlers hosted a special Bronson Children's Hospital game this summer, where players sported special jerseys with baseball themed drawings created by children's hospital patients.

Fans donated during the game and took part in a post-game jersey auction raising $2,115 for the Children's Hospital Fund.

Patient Trae Williams also had the opportunity to run the bases during the Home Run for Life. We are thankful to Trae, his parents and brother for representing our children's hospital families at the game!
