The adventure racing world came together for the inaugural Junior Adventure Racing World Championships in Temiscamingue in late July. Presented by Adventure Racing World Series, Raid Temiscamingue and the International Adventure Racing Association, Canada welcomed 38 U18 & U25 teams from 10 countries to compete together in three days of stage racing.
Our Ontario adventure racing community was represented by Team Style & Flow. Linden and Ben are second-generation racers who have developed their skills competing in Adventure Racing Ontario events like Storm and Wilderness Traverse. Style & Flow represented well, finishing 4th behind Kiwi, French & Spanish teams in the very competitive U18 Men's division. They looked good in their custom Team Canada jerseys, provided by Canadian Adventure Racing Association to all 26 Canadian racers. Congratulations to Linden & Ben, all the Canadian and international racers who took on the challenge, and the organizers for creating this event.
The first event of it's kind, it will hopefully support future youth development for adventure racing, offering a competitive pathway to the highest level and inspiring young racers everywhere. We look forward to supporting other young adventure racers that can go from Storm to the World Championships!
