Dvoor Farm Project Update

The completion of Phase I of the Dvoor Farm Project brings the installation of these beautiful Dutch doors that provide direct access to the barn’s courtyard. Today the ceiling and walls of the ground floor are being cleaned using dry ice to remove dirt and old paint.

We hope you will join us on a tour of the building on Saturday, September 7th at 10:30 AM so you can see the progress that has been made and hear about the next phase of the project! Please email info@hunterdonlandtrust.org to let us know you plan to attend.

Thank you to the many individual donors, New Jersey Historic Trust, Raritan Township, and Hunterdon County, who have provided the funding for this phase of the project.

Stewardship Volunteer Opportunities

We hope to see you at a Stewardship Saturday volunteer event soon! Learn about invasive species management, trail upkeep, and other skills while helping to care for HLT's natural lands on the following dates:

Summer Farmers' Market

Sunflowers from Cabbage Throw Farm

Our summer farmers' market continues every Sunday from 9 AM to 1 PM at the historic Dvoor Farm in Flemington! Find luscious fruit, sweet corn, craft cheeses, organic vegetables, pickles, honey, hearty breads, and plenty more for your picnic menu from sustainable producers. For a full list of our local vendors, visit our market website, and follow the market's Facebook page for weekly updates. We invite you to stroll our trail, destress with yoga, and relax at our picnic tables with an al fresco breakfast or lunch from the Fieldstone Bistro on wheels. See you there!

Spotlight: Zega-Lockatong Preserve

Have you visited our Zega-Lockatong Preserve? This 69-acre property in Delaware Township includes a trail that passes through meadow and forest, following Lockatong Creek and ultimately connecting to the adjacent Hunterdon County Wescott Preserve. It's also the home of one of our bilingual interpretive signs! Learn more about Zega-Lockatong Preserve by visiting our website, and remember to share your wildlife and plant sightings on eBird and iNaturalist!

Farewell to our Finance Director

HLT’s trustees and staff congratulate and send our gratitude to Mary Licetti as she leaves her position as our Finance Director after almost 16 years with our organization. We will miss her presence in the office and are thankful for her dedication to our work. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors!

Native Irises to be Planted at Dvoor Farm

Emily Dunn, HLT's Director of Stewardship & Digital Media, accepts blue flag irises from Amy Greene, Secretary of Raritan Township's Environmental Commission.

Hunterdon Land Trust was pleased to accept a tray of native blue flag irises from Raritan Township Environmental Commission, who had received several trays as a donation from SiteOne Landscape Supply. These irises will be planted at our Dvoor Farm Preserve and often attract hummingbirds and other important pollinators. We look forward to enjoying their purple blooms next spring!

Annual Newsletter Coming Soon!
