2026 MDONS Annual Conference
The 2026 Oncology Nursing Society Metro Denver Chapter Conference is a one-day oncology nursing education program designed to meet the educational needs of registered nurses and other healthcare partners who care for people living with cancer.
The goal of the cancer conference is to provide knowledge to elevate and support quality cancer care. Basic to intermediate concepts related to comprehensive cancer care will be shared to expand clinical skills, increase knowledge of the latest cancer treatments, and enhance professional development while promoting networking.

Now Recruiting: REKINDLE Study
Study Title: RE104 Safety and Efficacy Study in Adjustment Disorder in Cancer and Other Medical Illnesses
Purpose: The REKINDLE Study is testing an investigational single-dose, short-acting psychedelic medication. Our goal is to see if it can help promote better mental health in people with symptoms of depression and anxiety linked to adjustment disorder due to a serious medical diagnosis.
Who Can Participate:
- Adults between 18 and 80 years old
- Diagnosed with Cancer (stages 0-4), or other serious conditions such Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s disease (PD), or idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF)
- Experiencing symptoms of depression and/or anxiety and feeling overwhelmed for at least four weeks
Format and Duration: Interested potential study participants will be screened at a Study Center where they will be assessed to ensure they can participate safely. Participants will receive a single dose of the study medication or a low-dose comparator at the Study Center and will be monitored in a comfortable environment. Study Participants will then be followed for six weeks to evaluate their symptoms and check on their safety. Including the Screening Period, the Dosing Visit, and the Follow-up Period, participation in this study will last up to ten weeks.

Tune Into Healing Through Music
TUNED-IN: The Soundtrack of Your Life is a free, two-day interactive workshop led by educator and storyteller Molly Lord, M.A. that explores the powerful connection between music, psychology, and personal growth.
Through guided activities and reflection, participants will use the music they love to gain new insight, reduce stress, reconnect with their goals, and discover practical tools for navigating life after cancer. Whether you're looking to regain your sense of direction, build resilience, or simply enjoy a meaningful weekend with others who understand the survivorship journey, this workshop offers a creative and supportive experience.

- Dates: Saturday & Sunday, September 26–27
- Time: 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (attendance for both days is encouraged)
- Location: Classic Homes Corporate Office, Colorado Springs
- Cost: Free (includes lunch and refreshments)
- Who Can Attend: Women who are at least three months post-treatment, regardless of cancer type or where they received care. Participants may also bring one female support person.

Volunteer Opportunity: Melanoma Research Foundation Denver Gala
The Melanoma Research Foundation is looking for volunteers to support the 15th Annual Denver Gala on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Asterisk Denver.
The Denver Gala brings together the melanoma community for an evening dedicated to raising critical funds for melanoma research, education, advocacy, and patient support. Volunteers will assist with event-day needs such as registration, guest support, auction support, and other onsite logistics.
Volunteers will be asked to arrive at 4:00 PM for a walkthrough of the space and training on roles. Dinner will be provided, and the dress code is cocktail attire. The event runs from 6:00 to 10:00 PM.

Food is Medicine in Cancer Care ECHO
The Food is Medicine Coalition, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, is offering a free virtual Food is Medicine in Cancer Care ECHO series for oncologists, cancer center staff, and multidisciplinary oncology care teams.
Participants will gain practical, evidence-based strategies to integrate nutrition into cancer care. Sessions are held monthly through December 15, and CPEUs are available for eligible participants.

Women diagnosed with breast cancer before age 50 are invited to join this free half-day retreat focused on connection, education, and support.
