August 2022 Week 1 Prayers
"For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." (Romans 12:4-5, NIV)
CCIH member, Kunri Christian Hospital, has a Community-Based Health Program where children of less than one year of age are immunized against seven preventable diseases (i.e. childhood tuberculosis, poliomyelitis, diphtheria, pertussis, neonatal tetanus, measles and hepatitis B). We pray that the hospital's program continues to be successful and that they can reach all children in need within their community.

In the past week, flash floods across Pakistan have killed at least 310 people and injured hundreds, with the government issuing warnings of further extreme monsoon downpours in 14 more cities. We pray for the people of Pakistan and for their safety during this time. We also pray for the families who have lost loved ones to the flooding and for those who have been injured.

The CDC is tracking an outbreak of monkeypox that has spread across several countries that don’t normally report monkeypox, including the United States. According to the CDC, there have been 22,485 cases of monkeypox reported globally as of July 22. We continue to pray for those being affected by this outbreak. We also pray for healthcare workers on the frontlines working to control the outbreak and treat patients affected by the disease.
