Mindful Movement
Mindful Movement is one of our consistent Zoom offerings, which offers a gentle, accessible approach to yoga. Julie Schlemmer encourages participants to tune into what they are feeling as they move and make choices based on their present moment embodied experience. Over 8-weeks, Julie presents options for movement, with no priority placed on stretching farther or holding positions for longer.
Participation in Mindful Movement can be counted toward earning a Wellness Program Incentive in the Physical Activity category. Visit our Physical Activity web page for additional details on how to earn this incentive. Recordings of the sessions will be available.

NEW! Mat Pilates
Mat Pilates is a body conditioning program that uses precise movements, often repeated far more than traditional strength training moves, to build muscular strength and stability. Pilates promotes core strength, low back pain reduction, improved posture, better flexibility, and increased body awareness. Join instructor Mary Ann Dobbins for this new 4-week series.

Gut Health for Overall Wellness:
An 8-week Journey to a Healthy Microbiome
Join Elizabeth Greenfield, MS, APRN, IFMCP, for an enlightening 8-week course where you'll discover why gut health is the cornerstone of overall wellness. Participants will learn practical steps to maintain a healthy gut, understand the gut-brain axis, and explore the microbiome's critical role in detoxification, immunity, and disease prevention. Elizabeth will also demystify leaky gut and provide actionable strategies to support your gut health for a vibrant, balanced life. Financial Wellness
With rising interest rates and dramatic price increases for daily living expenses, it has never been more important to learn how to become financially savvy. Karen W. Braun, CPA, PhD, and former Professor of Accountancy at WSOM, is offering 14 sessions on Financial Wellness this fall with new and updated content. View topics list.

Chair Massages Available Aug. 21
A chair massage can help relax and loosen sore muscles, as well as reduce stress, tension, and anxiety. You can experience all these benefits and more by treating yourself to a chair massage before fall semester is in full swing! Appointments are available:

Reflection Point
Finding ways to connect with others at work can be difficult when you’re stuck in a cubicle or limited to small talk before a meeting or in the hallways. When faculty and staff of varied ranks, roles, and backgrounds meet regularly to discuss narrative literature – facilitated by CWRU professors – they share life experiences, explore diverse perspectives, shed familiar paradigms, and develop authentic connections. Reflection Point reading groups meet weekly for 12 weeks to discuss three books carefully chosen due to themes that inspire robust discussions on values, issues, and beliefs.

Healthy Conversations in Polarizing Times: A Special Edition Reflection Point Experience
As we enter the final months of the 2024 election, we find ourselves face to face with polarizing issues and challenging topics. We have decided to devote an additional Reflection Point group this Fall to discussing themes and topics pertinent to issues related to the election. For this group, the books will be chosen ahead of time and will feature a mix of fiction and non-fiction designed to facilitate generative discussion on the multiplicity of viewpoints in our contemporary political climate.

Workstation Workout
During this 8-week series of Workstation Workout, instructor Mary Ann Dobbins will provide exercises you can do almost anywhere. Using your body weight and a resistance band, you will learn workouts you can perform right at your own desk.

Work Happiness Method
Join Positive Psychology expert Stella Grizont for this 8-week series to learn how to be happier and more satisfied at work. Stella's evidence-based, energetic, and supportive approach has helped many individuals identify a clear vision for their professional path and make a plan to move forward. This program includes weekly training sessions, pre- and post-series assessments, worksheets, access to recordings, and gentle email reminders to help participants stay on track.

Savor Your Harvest Gardening Series
Leftover herbs, fruit, and beans, OH MY! As a compliment to the spring 'Backyard Beginner Gardening' series, learn how to savor your garden harvest this fall with The University Farm’s Food Program Staff. Come grow with us!
Please note that this is almost entirely an in-person, evening series. Most sessions will occur at the University Farm in Hunting Valley, with 2 sessions occurring at the Tinkham Veale University Center on campus and 1 on Zoom.
