A Letter from the Director...
Hello Friends,
The other day I was sitting in my office at the library and I overheard a patron ask a staff member for a "beach read" recommendation. The staff member replied, "Which beach are you going to?" The patron laughed and said, "The one in my backyard."
The beach is one of my favorite places to read and make a fresh start. The waves hitting the shore, the sounds of seagulls in the air, and watching the silhouettes of sailboats in a distance can transform anyone's mood. Yet, there is a beach in each of our backyards - if we allow it to exist. A comfortable chair, a glass of lemonade, bare feet in the grass, and the book you cannot wait to open. Put all these things together and voila - the beach.
The dawg days of summer are quickly winding down. If you can go to the beach - go. It does not matter if it is the one that will leave you with sand in your shoes for days or the one that is only steps from your everyday routine. Go to the beach - enjoy August in every way! Looks like Percy has made her way to the beach!
See you at the library!
Holly Bennett
Library Director, Information Conductor, and Community Ambassador

Get Your Lottery Calendars NOW!
|
We have individual lottery calendars available for sale at the main desk through Tuesday, August 31st, while supplies last.
Just $10 each!
We accept cash/check/credit cards.
How the Lottery Calendar Works
The chances for winning are based on the Pick-3 Pennsylvania Lottery (Evening), straight, not boxed, throughout September 2021. Each day a number is drawn, and if that number calendar has been purchased, the buyer will be a winner. The payout is determined by the dollar amount shown on the calendar for that day. (For example, Atticus Finch purchased calendar #123, and on September 28 the Pick-3 Pennsylvania number drawn is #123, then Atticus wins the amount appearing on his calendar for that day. If calendar #123 was never purchased, then there is no payout for that day.) Winners will have checks mailed to the address written on the ticket stub within 30 days of winning.
