Since retiring, I have continued to do what I love, giving to the community by volunteering as a facilitator for a weekly Senior Discussion Group, a Bereavement Group through the Kaiser Hospice Program, a Senior Women’s Self Help Group, and serving on the Advisory Board of the City of LA Recreation and Parks- Wilkenson Center.
Why do you serve on TASC’s Board of Directors?
My wish is to continue the legacy of Kenneth Lane, the founder of TASC and to be a part of the most amazing, ambitious, caring advocacy program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
What is the best thing about serving on TASC’s Board?
Continuing to participate in the administrative aspects of TASC’s strategic planning for the future and being a part of this pathway for TASC’s future.
What are your future hopes for TASC?
To continue the dream that Ken Lane conceived on the first day of TASC.
What is one surprising or fun fact about you to share with our TASC readers?
I think most people who know me know that I love Las Vegas. It was a family tradition and when I visit I am reminded of the fun family memories where my parents loved to play Keno.
What is your favorite leadership quote?
“The greatest weapon against stress is to choose one thought over another,” William James, American Philosopher and Psychologist (1842-1910)
