40 Years of God's Faithfulness!

Volunteers, church and nonprofit leaders, VIS friends, and supporters joined VIS on Wednesday, August 5 to celebrate 40 years of God's faithfulness as we trust His abundance for 40 more!

Reimagining Benevolence: 6-Week Learning Cohort

Are you in a role to help steward your church's benevolence fund? Join Volunteers In Service and Love INC, South Kent County for a 6-week learning cohort on Monday evenings in Oct-Nov to explore how to move our ministries and benevolence giving from transactional to transformational using Chalmers Center's "Helping Without Hurting in Benevolence Ministry" curriculum. Diaconal Ministry Study in Classis GR South

Volunteers In Service is helping the Diaconal Ministries Committee (DMC) of Classis Grand Rapids South survey the diaconate in the Classis to:

Better understand the current state of diaconal ministries in the churches
Determine felt needs for additional training and support
Gather ideas for the future of the Diaconal Ministries Committee (DMC)

VIS will be reaching out to Classis GR South Deacons to schedule a visit soon!

The DMC of Classis Grand Rapids South has also set aside seed money to encourage the work of the deacons. Learn how your deacon team might use some of this seed money to start new ministries of mercy, collaborate with other churches in ministry, or enhance current diaconal ministries at your church.
