What made you want to become active in the chamber? The OC chamber is an active organization that truly cares about the businesses and industries that are in our community. I wanted to be a part of the mission of continuing to promote local businesses and opportunities for the
community to grow and prosper.

Why do you serve on the Board of Directors? I chose to serve in order to lead by example of being a good servant and steward for our business community.

What is the Chambers role in the business community? I think the Chamber’s role is to provide support to local businesses and organizations, networking opportunities for business owners and managers, a recruiting organization and welcoming committee to our community for new opportunities, and to be a centralized voice of optimism and promotion of our businesses, communities, resources and citizens.

What piece of advice would you give to a business who was thinking about joining the chamber? I believe it is essential for businesses to join the Chamber to become a team member of the community. The benefits of an active and productive chamber far exceed any costs or time commitment. Each Chamber Member benefits from the inclusion of others to help promote and grow a vibrant economic community to be enjoyed by all.

Historic Anns 1893 Wedding & Event Venue

"Today I had the chance to speak with Julie Hill, owner of Historic Anns 1893 Wedding and Event Venue. Julie and her husband David bought the historic downtown Union City home in 2018 and have since transformed it into a BEAUTIFUL 5,000 square foot venue. The first thing I noticed as I walked in was the character that was in the home. You could instantly tell that there has been a lot of love (and probably blood, sweat, and tears) poured into this project."
Governor Lee, Commissioner Rolfe Announce Announce Tyson Foods Has Expanded Its Union City Operations
NASHVILLE, Tenn . – Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN) officials noted today that the food processing company has completed an expansion at its existing operations in Union City.

Tyson Foods, one of the world’s largest food companies, has invested an additional $87.6 million and is expected to create approximately 230 jobs by the end of 2020 as part of the expansion.

The company has added an additional 40,000 square feet and new production lines to the Union City plant. The expansion began earlier this year, but announcements and construction have experienced delays due to the global pandemic.

This is the company’s second expansion in Union City since 2017, when it announced an $80 million investment. Tyson employs more than 1,600 in Obion County. Its Union City complex supplies chicken for a national foodservice customer. Tyson also operates facilities in Goodlettsville, Newbern, Shelbyville and Humboldt, employing more than 5,500 in Tennessee.

Union City Chosen to Attend Tennessee Retail Academy 201
As Obion County continues to focus on the betterment of our county, we are honored to attend the 2020 Tennessee Retail Academy 201 program. This program will provide valuable information on how we can continue to improve our retail recruitment strategies. Retail is essential to economic development and we are honored to work with this program. The program has been moved completely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Share Information With Us!

Here at the chamber, we are putting together a contact list of local Plumbers, Electricians, Painters, Carpenters, etc. If you have contact information for anyone that provides these services, please share their information with us so we can include them on this document.

"The Obion County Chamber of Commerce provides the professional network and the community influence to support economic growth."
