Walk a Mile in Their Shoes
Join Us August 28th!
It has been two years since Yankton has come together to walk against domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse. This year we plan to show up big, not only to support survivors of abuse, but for those who are still being silenced by their abusers.

When we walk as a community, we show these women, children, and men that we are here, we care, and we believe. All proceeds from walker registrations and pledges go directly to River City Domestic Violence Center in support of our mission to help survivors of abuse on their path toward safety and healing.

Registration is only $25 and includes a shirt and water bottle. Click the button below for more information, registration, or to pledge to a team/individual who's walking. Let's get out there Yankton!
Donation Spotlight
We want to give a big "Thank you" to the Yankton Knights of Columbus! Your generosity toward our agency has allowed us to continue to achieve the goals we set out when we opened our doors many years ago. Thank you for your kindness and support!
A heartfelt gratitude to Celli's Giving Lemonade Stand! Not only did she walk in Empower Fitness's Hero 5k (where all proceeds were donated to our agency!), but she set up her giving lemonade stand and handed the funds over to our shelter! She is a wonderful example of a pure giving heart and we are so grateful for her continued support.
Hero 5k, Empower Fitness, and Larry's Continue to Give
"Heroes don't need to leap tall buildings or stop bullets with their hands; Heroes can be ordinary people who know that even if their own lives are impossibly knotted, they can help untangle someone elses."

THANK YOU to Empower Fitness, Larry's Heating and Cooling, Inc., and the other community heroes who showed up for this years HERO 5k. This fun run is sponsored by these two amazing local businesses with 100% of the proceeds being donated to our shelter. Their heart and dedication show us that local heroes don't always wear capes and uniforms. Our sincere THANK YOU for all you do to help your community.
Service Spotlight
On a Mission
"The gift of service leads to a life of love."
A great big THANK YOU to Restore Church and their mission volunteers for serving at our agency! They worked at organizing donations, pulling weeds, packing meals, and more! We are humbled by their service and continued support of our work in the community.

From Missouri with Love
When Restore Church in Yankton brought mission volunteers to our shelter, their volunteers saw a need and did NOT hesitate to fill it!
All the way from Missouri, First Baptist Church graced us with new filing cabinets and office chairs! We can not even begin to tell you how AMAZED we are by their generosity. As a non-profit agency, all of our funds go to our survivors, as they should! But, to have a group kind enough to contribute to our advocates and back offices, really just makes our year.
Wishlist
