It's Finally Here!

Back in March, we announced moving National Cheer Safety Month to August to have a better impact on cheer safety as we all begin our cheer seasons. Fast forward, and August is here! We are excited to share all month-long, important updates and tips across the spectrum of cheer safety. Join us and help spread the word.

First Step: Take the Pledge!


Start the cheer safety month with you and your team taking the iCheerSafe Pledge. Use this opportunity to talk about the importance of safety and the measures your team implements to help protect your athletes on and off the mat and/or sideline.

Athlete Protection


The safety and well-being of our athletes is first and foremost. Athletes and their parents should expect that they will be able to participate in an environment free from bullying, harassment, misconduct and abuse.

Injury Prevention


Cheer has made great strides in lowering serious injuries. We will be sharing tips to help minimize the risk of injury and provide resources for ongoing injury prevention and recovery.

Concussion Awareness


While cheer injury rates are low, in the bottom 1/4 of the 20 high school sports studied, concussion rates put cheer at 12th overall. We will share the importance of recognizing concussions and following proper return to play protocols.
