Happy National Wellness Month!

Words of Wellness Wisdom
from Susan Greeley, MS, RDN, National Director, Wellness Services
After several surreal months, thankfully we now find ourselves in the middle of summer, which is a time to savor the sunrises and sunsets and all of the hours in between! (I'm listening to the hum of cicadas as I write this, feeling calm and happy as this sound also evokes memories of relaxed, fun summer days spent in the past.)
Since August is "National Wellness Month", I want to take this opportunity to remind all how important our daily habits are and how they support our individual health. "Wellness" is not just a "nice" word. It encompasses virtually all aspects of our physical, mental and emotional health. I grew up hearing my father (a very wise man) say, "Without your health, you have nothing." With that thought, I'd like to remind you all to take deep breaths daily, eat fresh, whole foods and move your body daily! Simple, healthy daily habits matter most.
To that end, it's my goal to help support your health by providing tangible tools and information that inspire and empower you to thrive and achieve your own personal wellness.
I'm very excited to announce we have a new SENS microsite where Members can find all of these "tools" and resources, so be sure to check it out! In case you've missed the SENS wellness webinars over the past months, you can now access them anytime. I'm particularly happy we have our recorded meditation series now available.
Please read on to the get the lowdown on all of our wellness efforts. Be well, stay well and focus on being a healthier you! (And be sure to take full advantage of the remaining weeks of summer!)
Yours in health,
Susan

Eating Gut-Healthy Foods to Improve Your Mood
|
|
What we eat not only impacts our physical health — it plays a big role in our emotional health, too. Eating healthy foods can help with overall well being, and improve our moods. Research shows that there is a direct link between our gut health, our brains and how we process emotions.
