Home stretch: SRP at NKCPL wraps Aug 12!
Just a few more days to go! NKCPL's 2023 Summer Reading Program wraps this month. Have you signed up? There's still time to register, read, and earn rewards!

Just a reminder: On the Children's side, we've created a fun paper game board to make it easy for kids to track reading minutes and earn prizes. You can also just register and log reads online!

On the Young Adult side, participants can earn rewards, including treasure box items, books, and a pizza gift card.

And lastly, adult readers who log five books earn a FAB ceramic campfire mug. We'll have an end-of-summer Grand Prize drawing too!

Our summer reading theme is All Together Now! Join us for a program making your own friendship bracelets. Make some for yourself and some to share with friends.

Fri, Aug 4 @ 2 p.m.
Join us and watch the new Super Mario Bros. Movie! With help from Princess Peach, Mario gets ready to square off against the all-powerful Bowser to stop his plans from conquering the world. Can Mario do it? We'll find out!
Join us for this fun movie and we will provide popcorn and a drink!

Thurs, Aug 10 @ 10 a.m.
Join us for some fun nature crafting! We'll use yarn, paint, and items found in nature to create some different art projects. We'll have a few different crafts set up. Make a cardboard bug, a painted rock, or some art with sticks and yarn.

Thanks to all who participated in our First Annual Tiny Art Show this summer! So fun to see all those unique pieces come back to the Library this summer--what a treat to be able to display them!

If you (or your kiddo) contributed some tiny art would like your tiny art BACK, please come by the Library anytime this month and snag your creation. These pieces are currently on display by the main desk. (We'll hang on to them for a bit, but any masterpieces unredeemed by September 1 could face a dire fate!) Thanks again to all of this year's talented Tiny Artists!
Through mid-August: Storytime at Macken
Two more weeks of Storytime in the Park! Join us at 10 a.m. on August 7 and 14 , weather permitting, for the last couple of outdoor Storytimes of the summer season! We meet at the Gazebo by the tennis courts for stories, songs, and FUN! This Storytime is be different from our Tuesday and Wednesday times (so you can come to both!). Come for the stories, stay for crafts + play!
And join us on Tuesdays @ 5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays @ 10 a.m. for our regular Pre-k Storytime! These sessions include read-aloud stories, songs/movement, and a super-simple craft/activity. If you want, plan to stay after the Wednesday Storytime for some Stay-and-Play time with LEGOS/Duplos.

Join us for an intro class to our Janome sewing machine! Learn how to wind a bobbin and thread a machine, and get started with some basic stitching. Have a work in progress? This session is also an Open Sew, so feel free to bring your WIP and get some stitching done! For adult sewists only. With instructor Patty Ibarra.

Learn zipper application in a bag--a great skill to have in your tool box! Please bring two coordinating fat quarters or 1/2 yd fabric of your choice. For adult sewists only. With instructor Patty Ibarra.
