Emergency Preparedness Fair

Come to Cottage Grove's Emergency Preparedness Fair and Party in the Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2 at Coiner Park 1319 E Main St, Cottage Grove, OR 97424. This free, family friendly event gives you a chance to learn about emergency preparedness and resiliency. It will include food, games, raffles and more. Please stop by.

Heart Walk and Talk

Join this free monthly outdoor walking group from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 7. All are welcome! Learn from our heart-health experts while you get fresh air and walk along the scenic paths at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. It's held the first Thursday of every month on the path by the arches near the emergency room. Free parking is available in designated OHVI parking. Please do not use ER parking.


Walk It off with the Y!

Every Wednesday, now through August, you can join the Eugene Family YMCA’s summer walking program, co-sponsored by PeaceHealth. Weekly walks happen from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. All walks will be at Alton Baker Park, 100 Day Island Rd. in Eugene. Everyone is welcome.


Shop with a Dietitian

Join PeaceHealth registered dietitian Cecelia Jacobson for a free shopping tour at Market of Choice from 2 to 3 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month. The next session is August 19 and will focus on how to read nutrition labels. Space is limited. Each participant will receive a store discount coupon. Register here.


Virtual Stroke Support Group

Your Voice, Your Choice

If you’re ever unable to speak for yourself, your completed advance directive lets your healthcare providers and others know the kind of care you’d want. Join us for a one-hour session that will help you put your wishes in writing. The next session is Friday, Aug. 22 at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, OR. Register here.


CarFit program for older drivers

CarFit is a free, interactive program designed to help older drivers improve the fit of their vehicle for maximum comfort and safety. HEARTsafe Eugene Springfield

Anyone who has experienced sudden cardiac arrest is invited to join the HEARTsafe Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survivor and Co-Survivor Support Group. It meets from 4 to 5 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month at PeaceHealth RiverBend hospital in room 200CD. The next meeting is Aug. 26.
