PASSWORD PROTECTION
Reset for Security
|
|
It would be great to keep the same password forever, but it puts you at risk. That’s why online banking users will find account passwords set to expire – requiring a new password – every 180 days.
When you are prompted to update your password, you must do so from a desktop or laptop or from your iPad, so long as you are navigating to the (bank) website version on your browser. Current functionality does not enable you to perform the reset via the mobile banking app, but once you have completed your password reset, you are good to go logging in from your phone again for another 180 days.
There is no email warning your password is about to expire; the screen simply appears at login saying the password has expired and needs to be changed. At that time password parameters appear, and each line turns green as you create a new password within system specifications.
It’s worth noting that, if a user’s password is reset (either by the bank or by the system generating the temp password link) the 180 days resets as well. Also, if a user’s password has never been changed, it means they set up their password during conversion when we had a longer period configured for password resets.
Questions about this bit of digital housekeeping & security? Please call on your local Hyperion branch (404-381-2110 or 215-789-4200) or email us.

CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT
Neighborhood institution: George’s Pizza
|
|
A look at the menu will make you hungry. And a visit to George’s Pizza, 201 W. Girard Ave., will confirm that George Ofidis and his namesake restaurant are the real deal. After all, George and his family came to the neighborhood in 1974 and started the business (now with seven employees) in 1984.
Waiting to pick up his lunch order recently, Hyperion Branch Manager Lee Green chatted up Matt, the manager of a local paint store, who shared this about George’s: “He’s the best in the business. He’s friendly, straight forward and helped me out when needed. He needs to be acknowledged for that.”
Hyperion team members hear such a lot, as at least six people from the bank order lunch from the restaurant every day. In fact, another Hyperion employee shared, “just as I hit ‘send’ to get the info to you (newsletter editor), three of our guys stepped off the elevator with food from George’s.” And as with many neighborhood “regulars,” George knows everyone at Hyperion by name – and appreciates that they know him.
“Hyperion Bank is a small community bank; everyone knows everyone and I’m not just a number there,” he says. George also shares that he enjoys getting to know new people in the neighborhood, seeing changes and the neighborhood’s growth.
George is old school, not on social media, but he does use apps like Grubhub and Slice. But if you want the full experience, visit George’s in person. You’ll likely end up with a standing order, like “a mean BLT,” which Jen from Hyperion recommends.

ON THE GROW
Hyperion Atlanta moving...but not far
|
|
This Fall our Atlanta Branch is moving. Not far! We’re headed from Bldg 6 to Bldg 5 in the same quad in Piedmont Center in Buckhead, the city’s financial district.
We’re shifting to larger space to accommodate our growth (thanks to YOU!). Hyperion’s new Atlanta home will be more convenient for customers, as we’ll be on the second floor, enabling you to enter our offices directly. Safe deposit boxes also will be an option in our new space. We’ll be facing Piedmont Road and will have designated, adjacent customer parking.
We’ll keep you posted, including reaching out directly to customers who tend to use walk-in banking services in Atlanta most often.

Travis Alfonso joins Hyperion as Assistant Branch Manager of our PHL location. He has nearly 10 years’ experience in banking, previously serving as a store supervisor, customer service rep and teller. Prior to his career in banking, Travis was a portrait photographer. He’s lived in South Philly for 7 years, used to live in Detroit and “grew up all over New Jersey.” Welcome to Team Hyperion!
