Phoenix Landing Foundation and Companion Parrots Re-homed pr esent:
Debbie Foster
Debbie, of Parrot Ps and Qs , is certified as a trainer and behavior consultant and combines those two disciplines to help people with their parrots and to help give birds the skills they need to succeed in their homes.

Join us for a class that will teach you the science of learning and behavior and learn how we can apply that to the birds in our care. This class is good for people who are new to parrots and to people who have had parrots for quite a while. We guarantee you'll learn something new!

You'll get information on how and what to train, and understand the connection between what we do and our bird's behavior.

Must be attended live online via Zoom. No recording available.

Saturday, August 8, 10:00a.m. - 11:30a.m. EDT (UTC -4)
NO PLACE LIKE HOME (Online and self-paced)
When we bring a parrot into our lives, from parakeets to macaws, we are offering them a place to call home. What does home mean? For a parrot it might mean a place to be safe, be healthy, have a sense of family, and be provided positive opportunities to live and thrive. This class will address what each of these means to a bird, and give you some ideas about how to continue providing the good life for your bird.  This class satisfies our adoption process class requirement. In order for applicants to receive credit for the class, all activities must be completed and turned in.

If you have a varied schedule, or would prefer to spread a class out into short segments over multiple days, this class is for you! Class materials and activities are available August 7 - 24.

Birds spend many hours in their cages, and often these cages are not very large, which can reduce the opportunity for exercise, enrichment, and action. Let's talk about how to set up a bird's environment, especially their cage, for fun and multiple activities -- to include ideas for perches, plants, cleaning, privacy, foraging, the outside of the cage, and adjoining play areas.

This class is free, and is offered live online via Zoom.

Saturday, August 29, 2:00-3:30p.m. EDT (UTC -4)

Interested in volunteering?
The parrots need YOU!
If you are interested in getting involved, but are not sure how, here are some of our greatest volunteer needs:

Parrot taxis - Help parrots get to new homes or foster homes. Transport for donated items like cages or play stands is also always needed.

Storage - Do you have even a 3' x 4' space in a garage, basement, or bonus room that could be used to store donated cages or other supplies for adoptable parrots?

Happy Landings and Congratulations!
