THE TREE WHISPERER OF BROOKSIDE GARDENS

ALAN JONES, DALE DEPPE HONORED WITH LEADERSHIP AWARDS
Congratulations to IPPS Eastern Region members and leaders Alan Jones and Dale Deppe who were named as members of the class of 2019 Horticultural Industries Leadership Award winners. The presentation ceremony took place on Sunday, July 14, during the Cultivate 2019 conference in Columbus, OH.The award recognizes the extraordinary individuals who have made significant achievements in the horticulture industry.
Alan Jones, President of Manor View Farm, Inc. in Monkton, MD at the award ceremony. He has served on the IPPS International Board for 12 years and as chairman for the past four years.  More on Alan HERE.
Dale Deppe, President of Spring Meadow Nursery in Grand Haven, MI receives his award . Dale has been an IPPS member since he was 20 years old! More on Dale HERE.

In Memoriam: Philip L. Carpenter

Our condolences to the family of Philip Carpenter who passed away on July 1st at the age of 86. Phil was a Professor of Horticulture at Purdue University for 25 years. He joined IPPS in 1965 and was named a Fellow of the Eastern Region in 1993. Phil also served as Secretary of the Eastern Region for several years. More HERE .

OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS

  • Conference scholarships are available for students to attend the IPPS Eastern Region Conference in Madison, Wisconsin October 16-19, 2019. Application deadline is September 13, 2019. More HERE.
  • The IPPS Eastern Region Foundation is proud to introduce a new research grant program to support undergraduate research in the areas of nursery production and/or plant propagation. Grants are for $2,000 to support research and student wages. Details HERE.
  • The Horticultural Research Institute is accepting scholarship applications for the 2019-20 school year. Deadline September 13th. Apply HERE.
