Summer is starting to recede for us all, but this one is leaving a lasting memory for us with seriously high temps and humidity. I do hope you all have found your COOL spot and will remain there until we get a break! We all have much to look forward to this fall, with lots of plans in place and the wheels turning to create them for you.

Sue Angle and Deborah Alves have assembled an SGC Awards Committee. From the FFGC website, they found a FFGC Community Service Award which is being implemented starting this month for 6 months with a floral design/hort. specimen in a public space. This month, I will put a design in Selby Library to promote this Award on August 5,6,7!! Please come down and have a look!! Any of you interested to help with this Award for SGC, please contact Sue or Deborah. Watch out for a separate email with more detail coming soon.

Starting in October, SGC is hosting Floral Design Study Classes for anyone interested in learning how to do beautiful floral designs and accomplish them according to the "Principals and Elements of Design".
