Black National Business Month
Black National Business Month is observed in the month of August. It was created by the Black-owned business community as a way of promoting small businesses owned by African Americans.

The purpose of Black National Business Month is to:

  • Encourage more African Americans to start their own businesses;
  • Promote, support and strengthen the existing black businesses; and
  • Provide the opportunity for all Americans to learn more about black owned businesses and their contributions to America’s economy.
