Whether you're reading this on the beach or still in your office (wishing you were on a beach), we hope you're enjoying the summer months.
This month is particularly special for me as I am co-curating a
selling exhibition for
CARAVAN Arts,
featuring work by 38 acclaimed Middle Eastern contemporary artists inspired by the Lebanese born poet-artist
Kahlil Gibran,
at
Sotheby's London
from
6 - 10 August 2018. Read
Roxane Zand's (Sotheby's Senior Director & Deputy Chairman of Middle East and Gulf Region) blog on the show
here.
Best known for his publication
The Prophet, this renowned
Lebanese author, poet and artist has been an inspiration to countless generations and continues to be relevant to this day with his message of peace, harmony and the building of bridges between the creeds and cultures of the Middle East and West. We very much hope you will visit the exhibition.
Continuing the theme of text and writing, this month's
Art Matters
section focuses on the often obscure language used in art literature.
Finally we have just come across a wonderful short video on the travels of a mobile art bus through West Africa and have posted it in our
Inspiration
feature. I highly encourage you to watch this heart warming adventure.
Wishing you an enjoyable and relaxing August.
