Hello!


Welcome to the latest edition of Word on the Block, a recap of all things poemRENOVATION!


The other day I saw a maple tree with leaves that were turning bright red. My initial impulse was to wail, "It's too soon!" But I also had to admit it was a gift -- a brilliant cardinal of a tree superimposed on a backdrop of summer green. Where have you found unexpected loveliness lately?


We've got some beauty to share with you. We've captured the splendor of heaven and earth in three new word block sets with language drawn from beloved hymns. Rearranging them is a wonderful meditation. You'll find more details and a special offer below.


This month, we're also celebrating the power of creativity at every age, the poetic people we met in July, our featured poet and the July Giveaway winner. We've got fresh tips and tricks, and some fantastic events coming up, too.

Hobbies and creative activities are very important for boosting mental and physical health. And it is especially important to continue finding inspiration as we age. We spend so much time chasing our youth, but what if the real goal is staying inspired? Our summer intern, Natalie Michaud, explores that topic in this month's blog post.
