Our Perspective
Spotlight:  Augusta County's Spring Tourism Grant Program

Jobs make Augusta County go round, and from manufacturing to hospitality, we celebrate all opportunities to partner with businesses allowing our economy to work. The Augusta County Tourism industry employs 1,055 and brings in local tax receipts totaling $3.9 million (VTC data, 2015). In support of our tourism businesses, Augusta County is offering its first tourism grant program for Spring 2017. Eligible programs or events need to occur between January 1, 2017 and May 31, 2017 and should focus on the following:
  • New initiatives
  • Viability of increasing tourism (defined as visitors who travel more than 50 miles to reach a destination)
  • Strength of marketing and promotional plan
  • Creativity
  • Partnerships with other Augusta County businesses
  • Promotion of other Augusta County businesses
We anticipate awarding between two and four grant awards from the $10,000 total grant budget. The maximum grant award for any one program will be $5,000, but lesser amounts can be given depending on the applications received.
If you are interested, please email us at staff@augustaVAbusiness.com for an application. As always, thank you for all you do to support the County.
