Augustinian Prior General at Vatican Summit
Fr. Alejandro Moral, Prior General of the Order of St. Augustine, is participating in this week’s meeting at the Vatican on the protection of minors. He is one of the 12 members of leadership team of the Union of General Superiors and the representative of the Mendicant Orders. Fr. Alejandro is thus able to speak on behalf of religious men at this important gathering. Another Augustinian at the summit is Archbishop Jose Domingo Ulloa. President of the Episcopal Conference of Panama.
2019 Father Bill Atkinson Humanitarian Award
On Thursday, February 7, Villanova University’s Office of Disability Services presented the 2019 Father Bill Atkinson Humanitarian Award to Michael and Debbie Gaynor.

Augustinian Friends Laity Groups
At the parish of St. Mary of the Assumption in Lawrence MA. a new group of Lay Augustinians will be forming in the near future.

The Lay Augustinians from Philadelphia also made a retreat at the Augustinian house in Ocean City, New Jersey on the weekend of Feb 1-3. Thirteen men and women joined together for prayer, conversation and friendship. . . Read More

Jake Nevin Award
On February 2 (2019), Father John Stack, O.S.A., received the Jake Nevin Award from the Villanova University Varsity Club at its 2018 Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
 
A longtime supporter of Villanova Athletics, Father Stack is in his 37th year as a Villanova University staff member. After serving as the Dean of Students for 17 years from 1982-1999, he was promoted to his current role of Vice President of Student Life in 1999. A native of Drexel Hill, Pa., Father Stack graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in 1965 and Villanova University in 1971. Father Stack was ordained an Augustinian priest in May of 1974.
