Friendship Gathering on Staten Island
Augustinian Friars celebrated 119 years of ministry on Staten Island where friends gathered for the Celebration of Mass and a reception. 

Solemn Novena and Feast Day of Saint Rita
May 13-21
The National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia will host the Solemn Novena of Saint Rita. Each Mass will be followed by the powerful Novena to Saint Rita and veneration of her Relic. There are many Masses throughout the week. Click on the button below for the complete schedule.
Fr. Michael Di Gregorio, O.S.A . will lead a morning of recollection. It will include a talk by Fr. Michael followed by a time for quiet reflection. Adoration and Confession begin at 11am and Mass will be in the Upper Shrine at noon, followed by the recitation of the Novena to Saint Rita.
May 19
Healing Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Robert Hagan, O.S.A. at noon.
 May 22
The Feast of Saint Rita of Cascia will be celebrated with roses and singing! Masses at 8am (Bishop Michael Fitzgerald), 10am (Archbishop Charles Chaput, O.F.M. Cap), noon ( Fr. Michael Di Gregorio, O.S.A. ), 3pm (Abbot Antonucci, O.Praem.), 5pm ( Fr. Jim Spenard, O.S.A. ) and 7:30pm (Bishop Michael Deliman).
A free concert will be offered at 6:45pm in the Upper Shrine.
South Philly Family Health Walk

On Saturday, June 1st at 9 am, the Augustinian Defenders of the Rights of the Poor (A.D.R.O.P.) and Methodist Hospital Foundation are again cosponsoring the 3rd Annual South Philly Family Health Walk + Expo in support of health education and care to underserved South Philadelphians.

Fr. Michael Di Gregorio, O.S.A., Prior Provincial spoke to radio talk show host, Barbara Shinkle of Holy Spirit Radio about his new book of Augustinian Saints, Hearts On Fire and the history of the Augustinians.

May They Rest In Peace
On April 24, Fr. Dan Mc Laughlin, O.S.A., was invited to lead the burial service for the cremains of Army Chaplain Fr.Frank Brett, at Arlington National Cemetery. Fr.Frank Brett is buried with his brother, Navy Chaplain Fr. Bob Brett, who had been killed in action in 1968. Fr. Frank volunteered to serve as a Chaplain in Vietnam after his brother's death. They are the only two brother chaplains buried together on Chaplain’s Hill at Arlington.  Fr. Fr. Juan Cardenas Ruiz, O.S.A. is a member of the Augustinian province of Colombia and recently became a member of the newly established Our Lady of Good Counsel Augustinian friary in South Philadelphia. Fr. Juan is ministering to the Latino community of Annunciation BVM Parish and is working with various groups of the parish to support their activities and worship, encourage their growth in the faith and guide the organization and leadership of the community. Since arriving, he has dedicated his mornings to the study of English at the Kaplan Institute in center Philadelphia where he is progressing steadily.
A Gala Fundraiser for St. Augustine Church
A Gala Fundraiser for  St. Augustine Church , the first foundation of the Augustinians in North America, will be held on Saturday, June 1 at Villanova University's Pavillion.
The event which welcomes Villanova Basketball Coach, Jay Wright, as the featured speaker and Jim Murray, former General Manager of the Eagles, as MC, is being held to raise funds for the restoration of this historic church.
