Black Lawrence 2020 Hudson Prize is now open for submissions! Each year Black Lawrence Press Hudson Prize is awarded for an unpublished collection of poems or short stories. The prize is open to new, emerging, and established writers. The winner of this contest will receive book publication, a $1,000 cash award, and ten copies of the book. Prizes are awarded on publication. The deadline is April 10.  Submit your manuscript here.

Member Publication News

Jeffrey Taylor had "Austin, Ides of March, 2020" published in Tejascovido and a poem in di-vêrsé-city. "Chemo Mindfulness" will be published in the May issue of Poetry Pacific.

Janelle Curlin-Taylor had "Inner Fire" published in di-vêrsé-city.

Benjamin Nash had "Door" accepted by  Visions International  and "Alien Denies Predestination" accepted by  Oyez Review. 

Kaye Voigt Abikhaled ’s poem “Heading into West Texas Sunset” won 3 rd  prize in the 12 th  Annual  Light of the Stars  poetry Contest, 2019.

LaVern Spencer McCarthy recently won two 1st Places, two 2nd Places and three Honorable Mentions in Poetry Society Of Oklahoma Annual contests. In the Pennsylvania Annual contest she won one 1st Place, one 2nd Place, one 3rd place and three Honorable Mentions.

Christa Pandey has two senryu in the March issue of the online journal ‘Failed Haiku’ and will have a haibun in their April issue.

Nancy Fierstien's scorpion Haiku will appear in the 2021 Texas Poetry Calendar.

Brad Strahan had a poem published in The Lyric and received word Sojourner has accepted his poem "Bach & Buxtehude".
