The Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (ACGB) and the AMES Australia, the nation's the pre-eminent settlement agency, delivering services to over 30,000 clients a year, today announced a collaboration to extend access of the My Grief App to a wider multicultural community.

The announcement comes as Australia continues to battle the impact of COVID-19 across the nation.

In a joint statement, Catherine Scarth, CEO of AMES Australia and Christopher Hall, CEO of the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement, said the two organisations will utilise their resources to develop pathways to include a multicultural format in the My Grief App which provides information, tools and resources to support people experiencing grief and bereavement.

Christopher Hall said "currently, the My Grief App has some links to information sheets in a number of languages, however, the app a first-of-its-kind bereavement support tool, is constantly being reviewed to increase its use and services".

Catherine Scarth said combining the vast 70 years extensive experience of AMES, its direct operation of the multicultural programs through its settlement, employment and education services, and with access to the information and free services from the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement will provide valuable assistance to our multicultural communities and other agencies.

Available on both the Apple® and Android® mobile platforms, this free application places high quality bereavement information and support in the palm of your hand, and is available Australia wide.

Mr Hall said "every persons experience of bereavement is different. By answering a few questions, the App can provide you with a number of tailored strategies which best address your needs following a loss".
