I have a confession to make: I’m a terrible writer. If it were my job solely to write newsletter blurbs, I’d surely have been fired long ago, if not because of the quality of the blurbs then because of the absurd amount of time I spend staring at a blank page waiting for inspiration to find me.
It feels ironic to struggle with such insignificant writer’s block as I sit in a beautiful bookstore, surrounded by more than 9,000 books. Each of the books here represent lifetime achievements. They are masterpieces carefully crafted over years and decades. Every book here is an accomplishment I cannot even fathom attaining.
So, when I look around our store, unable to write so much as a newsletter blurb, I am immensely humbled by the responsibility of doing every one of these authors the justice they deserve.
In that regard, I’m proud of the efforts we make at Maria’s Bookshop to do right by every book and author represented in our store. After all, what better way to do that than by connecting the right books to the right readers?
This is ultimately what we hope to achieve each day. We strive to help our community of readers connect with the stories that will inspire you. So even as I struggle to find the right words, it is always an honor and a joy to help you find the right stories.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing what amazing words find their way to our shelves and yours this year.
