July  2019

We loved seeing everyone at our Sunset at Southwick's Zoo event earlier this month. What a fantastic turnout for our 5th year event! We hope you had just as much fun as we did...and caught the amazing sunset.

After a solid year of laying groundwork for our Autism Welcoming initiative, we are thrilled to announce our first two business partners are hosting community events this month! See the details below regarding the July 2nd dining event at Burtons Grill & Bar in Shrewsbury - and the July 20th sensory-friendly hair cutting event at Hidden Beauty Hair Studio in Natick.

Please note, most of our support groups are on hiatus for July and August, but this does not mean support is not available! Please call our office or  email anyone on our staff if you need to talk or set up a meeting.

Lastly, just a reminder...summer office hours are in effect for our staff as we accommodate vacation plans. We encourage you to set up an appointment before dropping by - we wouldn't want to miss you!

As always, feel free to call or email with any questions.

Your Co-Directors,
Thank you!
We welcomed more than 400 guests to our 5th Annual Sunset at Southwick's Zoo event this past month. Did you know that all the amazing people in the red shirts volunteer their time to make our event special? They are called docents and, while they work for Southwick's Zoo, they volunteer their time for our event to make it special for families. We are truly grateful!
The Autism Alliance's
Autism Welcoming Initiative
We are thrilled to announce the first two community business partners to join our Autism Welcoming Initiative: 1) Hidden Beauty Hair Studio in Natick  and 2) Burtons Grill and Bar in Shrewsbury.

The Autism Alliance has provided management and staff an autism education training including individualized autism supports specifically created and tailored to the business' needs, allowing them to provide you and your family a more pleasant and welcoming experience.
Both of these businesses have completed our staff training and are now launching their new, sensory-friendly hours and special events. Our hope is that you and your family will visit these businesses and let us know how they are doing. After a successful, three month trial period, these businesses will earn our "Autism Welcoming Seal of Approval".   Learn More
