WE’RE HERE FOR YOU.

Are You Inflammed?

It seems everyone is heated these days. We have no shortage of reasons to be angry or upset. I will not claim to have a cure for this. I do, however, know of some very effective ways to maintain your health...in good times and in bad times.

I do not suggest we push aside our feelings or ignore the stress. Instead, we must recognize what exists. Then, we can take special measures to counteract the negative side affects of worry, anger, fear, and frustration.

In this issue, the Featured Article covers a hot topic today: Autoimmune Disorders. Split into two parts, it looks closely at the need to reduce inflammation now in order to avoid a host of problematic conditions later.

Also, staff member Kerry Mack is featured in the news section, because she does more than assist with patients when they come in to see the doctor. Her service -- massage -- can dramatically reduce the body's inflammatory response to stress.

Finally, for those of you who are truly ready to commit to a healthy lifestyle, we give you the opportunity to hit reset and prepare your digestive system for real nutrition. By joining us for our full system detoxification Cleanse program, you can clear the way for a calm state of mind. By shedding the baggage of health-restrictive, excess fat, you'll have more energy to take on whatever life throws at you. A cleanse will help your immune system protect you instead of fight you, just as it was originally intended.

As an aside: I know that I ended the last edition with a promise that I would not be covering COVID stuff today. Then, I found some important information that could perhaps give hope to many who are suffering from repeat testing and segregation. There may be an end in sight. If you want to know more, click here to read.

We can't stop the emotions, but we can prevent the inflammation.

We’re here for you,

Dr. Pfeiffer

Understanding Autoimmunity

by Dr. Pfeiffer

Autoimmune disorders have been getting a lot of attention over these past pandemic years. The subject comes up whenever there is talk about the effectiveness of vaccines or the impact of COVID-19 infection. You've also heard about it concerning the long-term risks of both, especially for those “immunocompromised” individuals who are undergoing immunotherapy as treatment to suppress “overactive“ immune responses resulting from an autoimmune disease.

Meanwhile, scientists have acknowledged autoimmune disease since the mid-20th century. And by 1965, the medical community reached international consensus that autoimmunization really can cause disease.

But what exactly are autoimmune disorders? How many people do they effect? Herein are a few answers. More importantly, let us challenge the concept that, as the National Institute of Health suggests, “most of these diseases have no cure.”

Massage Therapist: Kerry Mack

Patients of both the Chiropractic Center and the Center for Nutritional Wellness know the face of Kerry Mack. She has been working with Dr. Pfeiffer for more than 20 years. But they might not know that, in addition to running the office and assisting with patient needs, Kerry is a licensed massage therapist who works out of the Wellness Center’s office two days a week.

Her massage services include:

  • Hot Stone
  • Trigger Point
  • Pre-Natal
  • Deep Tissue
  • Reflexology

Also, she is currently working towards Medical Message certification, through which she will be able to treat very specific injuries and issues.

She enjoys the variety in her roles at the office. She said, “This is like my second home. Speaking for the whole team here, our patients truly become our family.”

Massaging since 1998, she points out that it is just one more aspect of care that we are able to offer. Kerry said, “This really is a place of wellness. The main objective is to help people feel better and be as best that they can be in their overall health and wellness.”

Some of Kerry’s patients Dr. Pfeiffer identified as ones who would benefit from massage therapy. Others come to her for different reasons, some just to relax from the stress and strain of daily life.

Her massage table is in use every Thursday afternoon and evening as well as Friday morning and early afternoon.

Wondering if massage could help you be your best? Call or email the Center to talk to Kerry today.
