ACS News
As many states and local governments mandate the shutdown of non-essential businesses, we feel it pertinent to let you know Advanced Control Solutions is considered an essential distribution business and proud partner of many life-sustaining businesses around the world.

Advanced Control Solutions will maintain operations in accordance with all state and federal guidelines in order to provide our products and services as many are critical to manufacturing in direct response to the pandemic and other life-sustaining products.

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation to ensure measures are in place to protect the health and safety of our employees, customers and partners while at the same time serving our customers' needs.

In order to keep safety our top priority, there may be a slight delay in delivery of products and responses as we have limited the staff physically in the office. During this time you can still reach out to your ACS contact via our primary mode of communications - phone, email, or web-conferencing. All ACS employees are onboard, whether working in the office or from a remote home location. In the event you are having difficulties reaching your primary contact, feel free to reach out to one of our principles listed below. We thank you for your patience in advance and look forward to returning to a normal schedule after this difficult time.

  • For more information on our products and training, please contact Cale Harbour, VP of Products and Promotions, at charbour@acs-ga.com. Cale can be reached at 770-608-3301.
  • For information and scheduling of engineering related products, please contact Harris Jones, VP of Engineering, at hjones@acs-ga.com. Harris can be reached at our main line at 770-956-7202.
  • For any sales or new business related needs or issues, please contact Thomas Pilliod, VP of Sales, at tpilliod@acs-ga.com. Thomas can also be reached at 678-468-4876.

Finally, don’t forget, our virtual automation lab remains open with video and web conference capabilities in order to provide remote product presentations, proof of concept and testing, as well as training. Send us your parts and application to learn more on how we can help keep your automation running. Let us know if you would like to schedule an online demonstration.

We wish you all good health and safety in these unprecedented times,

Automate & Improve Your Internal Logistics
with the New MiR250
The MiR250 sets new standards for internal logistics with a robot that is faster, safer and more agile than any other solution in the same category on the market. The innovative MiR250 is packed with the newest technology, designed for serviceability and it can navigate smoothly and efficiently in dynamic environments – and even drive through doors as narrow as 80 cm! It's a more flexible AMR that can work around the clock and is brilliantly simple to setup, for improved productivity. Its smaller footprint and increased adaptability help optimize internal logistics without changing layout.
New Solutions to Pair with the MiR250
The ROEQ AM250 is an adapter module that allows for a mixed fleet of MiR100/200 and MiR250, and for the use of all your existing ROEQ equipment between those different MiR models.
The TMS-C300Ext. was designed for the MiR250 to support the handling of pallets, skids, boxes etc. without compromising safety- it is specially designed for easy access to the emergency stop button. The TMS-300Ext can be used with the Shelf-Cart300 and adds even more flexibility to your facility.
The MiR250 can collect the Shelf-Cart300 , deliver it to the desired point, and leave it there to be emptied or prepared for the next mission. In this way the MiR250 is only stationary for a short amount of time, effectively streamlining the workflow between different divisions of your facility.
Give Your Collaborative Robot Sight
Cognex has developed a URCap solution with Universal Robots to greatly simplify the communication, hand eye calibration, and vision guided robotics development between a UR robot and Cognex 2D Vision System. The system is used to guide the robot to specific coordinates, inspect the part after manipulation, and output valuable data for downstream analysis.
Simply download the Cognex In-Sight 2D Robot Guidance URCap from Cognex.com/URCaps and install on your Universal Robot. The UR caps interface will provide feedback when the camera and robot have established communication. The UR caps interface will then guide the user to perform the steps required for a hand eye calibration between the robot and the camera. A calibration file will automatically be saved in In-Sight Explorer, and can be re-used across jobs.
New High-Speed 3D Scanning with a Wide
Field of View & Measurement Range
The LMI Gocator 2490 is designed to scan large targets in packaging & logistics, automotive manufacturing, and food processing applications. The sensor leverages an ultra-wide field of view (2 m) and large measurement range to achieve an extensive scan area, allowing engineers to perform complete dimensional gauging and high-resolution 2D/3D quality inspection of large targets at inline production speed.
The LMI Gocator 2530 continues the signature high speed 3D blue laser profiling and compact design of the 2500 series, with a wide field of view. It includes a custom embedded controller, camera, and lens, for quick 10 khz scan rates. The 2530 boasts cleaner scan data on shiny metal surfaces. It is ideal for battery and consumer electronics inspection, and applications in rubber & tire and general factory automation.
