Today, civic participation occurs at many levels. We make impactful decisions about our community every time we make a purchase, vote, post on social media and, of course, volunteer. We think any awareness we can bring to the many resources that might spur individual action for good, falls right in line with what we’re up to at HandsOn.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

In honor of October being Domestic Violence Awareness month, HandsOn Greater Phoenix would like to highlight one of our community partners- Chrysalis

Chrysalis offers emergency shelters, counseling to domestic violence victims, community education, and so much more!

Chrysalis is looking for donations of new twin XL bedding, mattress pads, and new towels. In addition, to celebrate Halloween with the families, Chrysalis is in need of mini pumpkins, Halloween Decorations, and candy to be handed out to Trick-orTreaters. Thank You Cox Charities!

HandsOn Greater Phoenix is pleased to have been selected to receive a $3,500 donation from Cox Charities. This marks the 26th year that Cox employees, through Cox Charities, have raised funds to help the communities in which they live and work. Since 1996, Cox Arizona employees have raised $9.7 million and awarded grants to 1,719 local Arizona nonprofits.

The donation will help Your Experience Counts provide volunteer tutors to assist students in the classroom and promote academic success.

On August 21st, Cox Communications selected HandsOn Greater Phoenix to be the recipient of the funds raised in the Cardinal's 50/50 raffle.

We are unbelievably grateful for this wonderful partnership with Cox, and for all the volunteers that attended the game to work the raffle!

The raffle raised $23,600 that will be used to support our year-round community building efforts!
