Halton Hills is ready for fall with the return of the Discovery Pass!
Halton Hills’ Discovery Passes are back! Local business is at the heart of Halton Hills, and the Autumn Discovery Pass, running September 15 to November 1, is a free program designed to celebrate and support them.
This mobile-friendly initiative encourages visitors and residents to shop and explore local with check-ins, rewards, exclusive offers, and some extra bonuses along the way at participating locations.

Business spotlight: Community Improvement Plan Grant Supports Facade Improvement in Downtown Georgetown

HALTON HILLS, ON – On Thursday, August 28, Mayor Ann Lawlor and Councillors Norris, Garneau, and Fogal, joined the Town’s Economic Development Division, to present a cheque for $7,308.08 to FOLIAGE, a locally-owned houseplant boutique, and the 126 Mill Street building owners. The funding was provided through the Town’s Community Improvement Plan which supports commercial property revitalization and improvements through grants and loans.
FOLIAGE was founded by Cheryl Discenza, a lifelong plant enthusiast turned entrepreneur, to create a space that blends creativity, design, and a love for nature. The shop and online store is known for its carefully curated plant selection, sustainable practices and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Digital Modernization and Adoption Program
The DCC Digital Modernization and Adoption Plan (DMAP) is part of a broader Digitalization Competence Centre (DCC) initiative. DMAP is designed to support Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) to better understand their organization’s technology needs, guide their digital transformation decision-making, and optimize their technology investments.
In addition, the program facilitates access to expertise and the latest knowledge and information on digital technologies, training to use new equipment and processes, and understanding and adopting digital technologies that will enable SMEs to scale. Eligible SMEs can receive up to $15,000 in reimbursement funds to develop a digital adoption plan.
Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Retail Modernization Project Grant
The DCC Retail Modernization Project Grant (RMPG) is part of a broader Digitalization Competence Centre (DCC) initiative. RMPG is designed to support retail businesses (Retail) to advance their digital transformation and optimize their technological investments with the purchase of effective digital equipment and software to help them transform and grow.
Eligible retailers can receive a reimbursement of up to $5,000 in funds post-approved acquisition of technology. The grant contributes to the cost of hardware, software, and the direct external cost to implement and operate said technology.
Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Regional Tariff Response Initiative
The $450-million Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI) helps businesses overcome trade disruptions and includes support for businesses in the steel and automotive industries. It invests in targeted, time-sensitive activities that boost productivity, lower costs, strengthen supply chain resilience, and open doors to new markets, enhancing overall competitiveness.
RTRI is intended to support businesses and sectors impacted by tariffs.
Businesses can request one of the following:

$125,000 up to a maximum of $10 million in fully repayable financial support; OR
-
Under $100,000 in non-repayable financial support.
Total project costs must be a minimum of $125,000.
Please note: Applicants seeking funding between $100,000 and $1 million are encouraged to check for program updates, which will be available soon.

Racialized and Indigenous Supports for Entrepreneurs (RAISE) Grant Program
The Racialized and Indigenous Supports for Entrepreneurs (RAISE) is a grant program (2025-26) that supports Indigenous, Black, and other racialized entrepreneurs who live and operate their business in Ontario. The grant program will provide:
- Business development training
- Culturally responsive and tailored business coaching
- Networking opportunities
- A one-time grant of $10,000
Deadline: October 1, 2025, at 5 p.m. (ET)
