Plant of the Month
CRYPTOCEREUS ANTHONYANUS (Ric Rac Cactus)
| | |
|
|
THE WATER CONSERVATION GARDEN PLANT FACTS
Where in the world: Mexico
Loving facts: This orchid cactus relative has serrated leaves that resemble fish bones. The Ric-Rac cactus is one of the easiest plants to grow in hanging baskets
Find it at The Garden: Weathervane by the Children's Garden
| | |
|
The ric-rac prefers smaller baskets with a very porous soil. As the plant grows and gets rootbound the plant can be repotted to a bigger basket. Cryptocereus will grow better in bright shade and can even handle a little bit of direct sun as long as it is not too hot.
There are several different ways you can contribute to The Garden including: making a donation, starting a fundraiser, renewing your membership, giving through your donor-advised fund, AmazonSmile, matching gifts and much more!
Garden memberships offer year-round access to tranquility as well as free admission, discounts on workshops, and member-only events. Experience nature and support the mission of The Garden.
The mission of The Water Conservation Garden is to educate and inspire through excellent exhibits and programs that promote water conservation and the sustainable use of related natural resources.
