The Sisters of the U.S. East-West Province Remember the Lives of Two of Their Members
Sister Agnes (Agnes Julie)
Pashby
(1932 - 2022)
Sister Agnes Pashby went peacefully home to her good God on 29 September 2022, at age 90. During her 72 years as a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, she taught at schools in Worcester, East Boston, Dorchester, and Shrewsbury. In 1986, Sister Agnes was appointed Assistant Treasurer for the Ipswich Province. In her life, she was known for her hallmark modest generosity.
Sister Theresa Cunningham went home to her good God on October 6, 2022, at age 96 after serving 77 years as a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur. In her long career as an educator, she taught at many schools throughout Massachusetts. Her final formal assignment was with the Archdiocese of Boston, working with The Pilot, the Boston Archdiocesan newspaper.
In celebration of All Souls Day on Wednesday, November 2, and throughout the month of November, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur will continue the tradition of prayerful remembrance of the life and repose of all souls.
The medal was presented during a daytime prayer service at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Boston on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
Two Sisters Honored with Cheverus Award Medals
Sisters Anne Marie McAndrews and Kathleen Therese Cassidy were presented with the Cheverus Awards medal, an annual award given by the Archdiocese of Boston. The medal recipients are chosen for their service to the Church and God’s people.
The medal was presented during a daytime prayer service at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, 1400 Washington Street, Boston on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at 2:30 p.m.
This 5-year grant will be used to enhance the University’s graduate degree programs in education, business, and psychology and to provide student scholarships!
