Since 1984... when someone close to you dies,
we can help the healing begin.
Greetings!

We're nearing the end of our outdoor seasonal support offerings with one more Mindfulness and Horses event at Circle R Ranch, and one more Mindful Autumn Walking Group scheduled for this month. We are so pleased that you have found both of these opportunities helpful to connect with peers, learn new skills, and feel supported, less alone in your grief.

As always, we are grateful for your continued patience and kind support as we find ways to provide comfort and a sense of community to our membership during these challenging times.

We are pleased to be able to offer a number of NEW ONLINE peer support group meeting options beginning this month to connect and to share with one another. There will be five online adult peer support group meetings scheduled to run into the New Year, facilitated by trained peer support volunteers and our Program Coordinator:

  1. Perinatal Loss Group Meeting - a loss-specific meeting for adult family members impacted by perinatal loss (miscarriage, TFMR, stillbirth, infant death).
  2. Drug Poisoning/Overdose Loss Meeting - a loss-specific meeting for adult family members impacted by drug-involved death.
  3. Moms' Group - a general bereaved mothers' group - any mom who has experienced the death of a child from pregnancy to adulthood is welcome, no matter how much time has passed since your child has died.
  4. Partner Loss Group - a loss-specific meeting for adults who have been impacted by the death of their partner or spouse.
  5. Adult Sibling Loss Group - a loss-specific meeting for adults who have experienced the death of an adult sibling.

We recognize that online group meetings may be a new experience for many of you--it is for us, too! We encourage you to give it a try. We're all learning and adapting as we go, and we are committed to creating a safe, supportive and encouraging environment for our staff, volunteers and members to step into new ways of being together. Hope to see you online soon!

Please feel free to call the office if you'd like to talk to our Program Coordinator, Cheryl, prior to registering for any of these open group meetings.

** REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL MEETINGS **

Bereavement Support
Ongoing

While our office remains closed to regular, in-person group meetings and appointments, we continue to schedule telephone appointments with community members for bereavement support, intake, resource sharing.

Current members of BFO-SW, as well as community members in our area who have experienced a recent loss (child loss or another special person in your world), or those who are noticing that past death losses and grief are resurfacing due to these challenging times, are invited to call 519-686-1573 anytime for support.

As always, we welcome calls from community support partners seeking bereavement information and resources. Kindly leave a message, and we will return your call as soon as possible.

We have also added the option of individual video conference appointments for intakes and check-in calls for our members beginning this month if you prefer to meet "face-to-face" online.
