This week marks the ten-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy
What started as a hurricane in the Southern Caribbean on October 26, 2012, spiraled into a Super Storm by the time it hit the Jersey Shore on the 29th. Sandy hit hard, it made landfall in Atlantic City and made its way inland and up the entire Jersey Coast and onto Connecticut.
While the natural disaster was responsible for destroying hundreds of homes along the coast, it also showed us here at Select Modular Homes what resilience is all about.
Although we had been building modular homes along the Jersey Shore for decades before the storm hit, it wasn't until its aftermath that we opened our shore-based West Creek office. As a family we were there with helping hands, open hearts, and plenty of boxes of tissues. When disaster strikes families pull together.
We worked hard to help people rebuild their dreams, assure them that there was a light at the end of the tunnel and give them hope back, while also having the pleasure of knowing that we were contributing to the rebuilding of the Jersey shore.
