Chicken Farm Initiative

The SWIC organization is working hard to launch the next four farms this fall before the weather turns in November. You can continue to make an enormous difference
• first by funding chicks, and
• then by sharing this success story with your friends.
$5 - Buys one chick
$1,000 - Fully funds 200 chicks for a farmer
$6,000 - Sponsors the SWIC contribution for an entire chicken farm!
Dozens of farmers are lined up, waiting to restart their farms as soon as we can provide the one-time reconstruction funding. Thanks in advance for your support.
Sunday School
Telling Our Story-The Hebrew Scriptures

Children and youth of all ages are invited to join us this week, at Bolingbroke after breakfast, to continue exploring the Old Testament (OT). First, at 9:30 a.m., there will be a music rehearsal for the Children's Choir. No prior singing experience needed so have your children plan to come and enjoy being part of a choir.

Then we will return to the large room by the kitchen to look at a map and follow the travels of the ancient people that God called to follow Him. These are stories that are meant to be told and retold. We are reminded of God's covenant, and how we are in a relationship with God and with other people.

Bibles and art materials will also be used to help build up our understanding of the OT passages. Some of the stories will be new, and part of the fun will be discovering God in unexpected places!

Children and youth from ages 3 through 6th-grade are invited to join Ms. Deb, Elizabeth, and Megan at Bolingbroke. Please contact Ms. Deb (740.272.6901) if you have questions, special instructions, or would like to participate in any of our Sunday School programs.

"Fr. Brown" is a BBC mystery series based on a character by G.K. Chesterton. Fr. Brown investigates murders while also guiding his congregation in a small English village. There will be a special screening of a Fr. Brown mystery on Wednesday, October 16th, from 7:00-8:30 PM at Christ Church, Ithan (536 Conestoga Rd, Villanova). Join the Bible Study "regulars" to watch the show, eat your dinner (brown bagged if desired), and engage in a theological reflection comparing the episode's twists to Gospel stories. Preparing for Sunday
Increase our faith! - Luke 17:5-10

Reflections:
"There’s nothing more ridiculously useless than replanting a mulberry tree in the ocean! And I wonder if Jesus wasn’t reminding his disciples that faith isn’t manifested in flashy magic tricks, or pointless, self congratulatory displays of power, or in destruction and uprooting, but in daily acts of faithfulness—those quotidian acts of obedience that grow the kingdom, one carefully tended little mustard seed at a time."

"Paul writes to Timothy, “For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control.” We have the power to fully embrace faith if we so choose, and therefore become not servants but children of God.” Abandoning that reserve and putting our trust in Christ is how we put aside that spirit of cowardice, and how we plant the mustard seed and watch it flourish."
