To seek God, and be Christ’s body in the world
Preparing for Sunday
Marriage and The Resurrection

“…and he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive." – Luke 20:38

Reflections:
"If marriage is preparation in this life, so is community — even then and even now, some people in our own communities continue to act in bad faith and ridicule. We are not called to respond in kind, or to walk away, either. We are called to act as Jesus does here in patiently proclaiming the truth of the Lord. That is one example of what Jesus meant by loving one’s enemies; we offer them salvation even through their derision or worse. We do this because we follow the God of the living, not the dead, and we want to help bring as many of His children back into the light as we can."

"Someone once said that “today is the first day of the rest of your life” and that will be especially true on the day we die. When we die, the Lord will not abandon us. He will be there to greet us. To be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord. We have Christ’s promise of the reality of the resurrection through Christ’s own death and resurrection."

A Prayer:
Thank you, Lord, for your promise of eternal life. Amen.

The service will be followed by a ticketed brunch in Ithan Hall.

Global Mission
Conversation on WATER

The Diocesan Global Mission Commission (GMC) will be hosting a Diocesan wide conversation focused on parish involvement in clean water access around the world. The event will be in the Gurley Room at St. Martin's on Saturday, November 16th, from 9:30 - 11:30. Several parishes have years of expertise in Tanzania, Guatemala and El Salvador working with local communities on clean water. These parishes would like to share with each other and with others who might be interested in joining their mission work. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Pam Faber.
The Season of Sacred Portion

Our Season of Sacred Portion will continue on Sunday, November 17th, with The Rev. Bob Tate preaching about stewardship. Pledges will be collected and presented during the services. In addition, St. Martin's Day will be observed with the Children's Choir singing at the 10:00 AM service.
Music Ministry
The Children's Program

On November 17th we celebrate St. Martin's Day and families will be in worship with children participating in a variety of ways. We invite all children to participate because the Children's Choir will be singing. The more the better on November 17th starting with a rehearsal at 9:30 AM as we "Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise." (Psalm 98)
