Hello from BGCA’s Youth Development Program Quality team!

We write today to inform you of an upcoming change to better support your program quality efforts and the implementation of upcoming Membership Requirements.

Membership requirement 5.5 "Commitment to Quality Programming" will become effective January 1, 2024. It states “Each Member Organization shall execute all programs and activities with a high level of quality and shall demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement, demonstrated by completion of an annual, site-level program quality assessment.” You can learn more about this requirement on BGCA.net.

Starting October 1, 2023, two qualifying assessments will be available to you through the BGCA Assessment Tool located on mybgca.net:
  1. Weikart’s Youth Program Quality Assessment (YPQA)
  2. BGCA Club Programming Standards Assessment

Both assessments can be completed digitally or entered after completing manually. You can also create and manage Improvement Plans based on your results as well as access helpful resources to support your improvement efforts.
Additionally, the Formula for Impact Assessment is sunsetting. If you have questions about this update, contact contact quality@bgca.org

**Please note for existing Weikart Scores Reporter users EXCEPT Indiana Lilly Grant awardees and Club Director’s Academy participants:
  • The YPQA will be available on BGCA’s Assessment Tool beginning 10/1/2023. You will have access to Weikart’s Scores Reporter through 12/31/2023. We are no longer creating new Scores Reporter accounts unless you are an Indiana Grant Awardee or Club Director’s Academy participant.
  • All existing and completed YPQAs will be moved from Scores Reporter to the new platform. Any submissions in progress will NOT be moved. Please complete and approve all assessments before 12/31/2023.
  • Existing and completed Program Improvement Plans will NOT be moved from Scores Reporter to the new platform. Be sure to download any plans you wish to save by 12/31/2023. Program Improvement Plans can be entered into the platform manually. If you have any questions, contact quality@bgca.org
  • Instructions and tutorials will be posted on the assessment platform itself as well as on CQIToolkit.org in the coming months.
  • Indiana Lilly Grant awardees and Club Director's Academy participants will continue using Scores Reporter until further notice.

Your BGCA Program Quality team will keep you informed and is always available to support you. If you have any questions, you can email us at quality@bgca.org or schedule a consultation at bit.ly/BGCAYDConsultations
