Shegitu Kebede: Journey from Refugee to Restaurateur

In 2006, Kebede was awarded the McKnight Foundation's Virginia McKnight Binger Human Service Award. In 2011, she was featured in the Minnesota History Center exhibit, "The Value of One Life."
She has written her powerful story in a 2011 book, "Visible Strengths, Hidden Scars."

Join us as she tells her story from living in a refugee camp in Kenya to owning a successful restaurant, Flamingo, on University Avenue.

City Council votes 5-2 in favor of stadium plans
 Last Wednesday, the Saint Paul City Council voted 5-2 in support of spending $18.4 million for public infrastructure around the proposed Midway soccer stadium. Special thanks to Midway Chamber members who attended the meeting, including Board Chair Jeff Fenske who made comments during the public hearing.
