St. Thomas Advances to DIII Football National Championship- Watch it Live at UST
The University of St. Thomas football team is playing in the Division III championship game this Friday in Salem, Virginia. Can't make it to see the game in person? Watch it live at St. Thomas:

The University of St. Thomas will be hosting a viewing party in the Anderson Student Center (ASC) starting at 5:30pm CST on Friday, December 18 . The viewing party is free and all fans are welcome to attend. The game is expected to be broadcast on ESPN U, but may vary due to television schedules.

Solar Panels Will Help Power Light Rail Corridor
Workers are on track to install solar panels on four commercial  rooftops along the green line corridor in 2016. The City of Saint Paul was joined today by Midway Chamber members Xcel Energy and solar developer  Innovative Power Systems as they announced a partnership
on the $2.7 million project, with Xcel Energy providing $1.9 million in
renewable development funds.

This Innovative Power Systems solar project and others in the Energy
Innovation Corridor will produce enough power to offset roughly 17 percent of the train's electrical usage annually, saving more than 1,600 tons of CO2 emissions per year. Although the systems won't directly power the train it will reduce demand in an area that needs it.

New Faces, New Places
American Engineering Testing, Inc. (AET) has announced the addition of Dr. John Beaty as Historic Preservation Specialist to the Petrographics and Chemistry Group.

Dr. Beaty brings a set of capabilities and skills that are new to AET. With his PHD in Historic Preservation and Building Construction from the University of Florida, he is uniquely capable of identifying historic construction techniques, materials, and provenance; as well as preparing and analyzing historic mortar and other masonry samples. In the past, he developed skills with hands-on projects such as plaster restoration for an 1809 church in Nantucket, Massachusetts, stone patching, repair and cleaning of the 1875 Civil War Monument in Savannah, Georgia, and heavy timber frame restoration of a 1850s granary in upstate New York; as well as an understanding of the practical aspects of local historic preservation when working for the City of Saint Paul Heritage Preservation Commission.

Give to Hamline Midway Angels this Holiday Season!
A group of neighbors is working on a Secret Santa project for some Hamline Midway families in need of some holiday cheer this year. They are especially looking for gifts for teenagers and tweens, especially gift cards to restaurants and stores in the Midway neighborhood. Could you make a donation? If interested in learning more, contact Jane at jane@accesspress.org or 651.646.3473.
