The Illinois Department of Health and Family Services (HFS) has released the 2023 income and asset limits for their medical programs, including AABD Medicaid and Medicare Savings Program (MSP) that are in effect April 1, 2023.
Please note, that the asset limit for AABD (Aid the to the Aged, Blind and Disabled) has increased significantly from $2,000 for one person and $3,000 for a couple in 2022 to the 2023 AABD asset limit of $17,500 for a single person household and a household of two. This increase aligns with asset limits of the Community Care Program (CCP).
The asset limit for the Medicare Savings Programs (MSP) has increased significantly for a household of two. The 2022 asset limit for a household of two was $12,600. In 2023 the asset limit for MSP for a household of two is $15,160. For more information on the 2023 Medicaid income and asset limits, please click here.
