AVONDALE IN ACTION
Lunches for our Neighbors
Jan 26 & Feb 23
We regret to inform everyone that due to the current conditions of the pandemic in Mecklenburg county and the county's recent directive, we feel compelled to modify Lunches for Homeless Neighbors. To avoid contact among people not in the same household, the Lunch Leaders have volunteered to prepare the lunches within their household pods. We will still be providing this important service to our neighbors in January and February! We will continue to hope for better conditions in March and thank everyone for your faithful support of this mission.
A message from Roof Above
"Thank you so much for the Avondale Blessing Bags for our clients! Some of our guys were a little disappointed back in early December when they found out that there wouldn’t be a party because of COVID-19, so those gift bags really meant A LOT. I’m so happy that our clients could have a brighter holiday thanks to Avondale!"

A Prayer this Inauguration Day from PC(USA)
Holy God, on this Inauguration Day, we pray for our new president, vice president and all leaders of our nation. We are tired, O God, of the hate and harm done to and by your children.
We ask for wisdom for the new administration, that they may usher in a time of healing and unity to our divided nation. May they seek justice and peace, equality and equity for all of your beloved. Hear us, O God.
