"There's no "I" team!"
1 Corinthians 12: 20-25

20 As it is, there are many members, yet one body. 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 On the contrary, the members of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and those members of the body that we think less honorable we clothe with greater honor, and our less respectable members are treated with greater respect; 24 whereas our more respectable members do not need this. But God has so arranged the body, giving the greater honor to the inferior member, 25 that there may be no dissension within the body, but the members may have the same care for one another. 26 If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it.

A Moment for Children
Parents, read over the lesson below and use it to stir conversation as a family!
Baseball Games!
I LOVE going to see a baseball game in the summer! I love seeing all of the people, cheering for my team, enjoying a hot dog and singing
Take Me Out To The Ball Game!
Do you like going to games? What is your favorite part?

Team Sport!
As you know, Baseball and many other sports require an entire team of people. Each teammate has a special job to do and without that teammate and their special job your team would not be complete! They all come together to make one team that is ready to play the game and win!

1 Corinthians 12: 20-25
Our scripture today highlights the importance of everyone and how valuable their gifts are to the church. Everyone at Avondale has a special gift and equally important jobs within the church and although we are all separate people, we come together to make one church! Just like the baseball team working together to win the game, we all work in different ways to make sure that we are sharing God's love in our church, community and world!

Talk It Out!
You have special gifts for the church also and they are very important! Spend time with your family talking about ways you already contribute. Is there anything new you have been thinking about wanting to do?

Dear God, Thank you for our church family. Help us to all work together to share your love!

Vacation Bible School with ABC!

Last week our ABC summer campers enjoyed a week of Vacation Bible School! Christian Nurture provided the materials and prerecorded Bible lessons using the PCUSA curriculum, "Feet that Follow" and the Bethlehem Center staff worked hard to teach them all about following Jesus! "Feet that Follow" took them on a journey of discovering what it means to be a Disciple and to follow Jesus during a time that we are so limited in our ability to GO!

ABC campers are housed in the Family Life Center through out the week. In an effort to maintain social distance and safety,
please contact the church office prior to entering the FLC.
