Sunday, December 1 - 1st  Sunday of Advent
Join us for Sunday Mass and a Blessing and Lighting of the Advent Wreath at all Masses.

Monday, December 2 - World AIDS Day Mass & Candlelight Prayer Vigil, 5:30pm
Come and pray for all who are affected by HIV/AIDS at a bilingual  Mass , followed by prayers on the Cathedral steps. A reception follows in the North Conference Room.

Wednesday, December 4 - Organ Recital, 12:45pm
Enjoy a midday treat as Jeremy Jelinek, Principal Organist at St. Dominic Catholic Church, continues our Lunchtime Organ Recital series.

Saturday, December 7 - A dvent Day of R ecollection, 10am - 2:30pm
Accept the invitation to reflect on how God unveils the mystery of Jesus' dwelling among us. Deacon Edward McCormack leads us in the G reat Hall of the Rectory.

Hospitality after Masses
Join us after all weekend Masses (except 5:30pm Sunday) for snacks and a Holy Land gift sale in the North Conference Room!

Sunday, December 8 - Advent Choral Concert, 3:30pm
Celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception at a one-hour concert, "Magnificat!" by the women's chamber group,   Voix de Femmes.

Monday, December 9 - Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary
The regular weekday Mass schedule is observed (a Holy Day without obligation). Archbishop Gregory celebrates the 12:10pm Mass.
Thursday, December 12 - Our Lady of Guadalupe Rosary & Mass, 7pm
All are welcome as Fr. Benson celebrates a 7:30pm bilingual Mass in the Cathedral (Rosary at 7pm) for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. A reception follows in the West Conference Room.

Saturday, December 14 - Prologue to the Gospel of John, 10:30am - Get better acquainted with this Prologue, once read at the end of every Mass! Join Fr. Hurley in the East Conference Room.

Saturday, December 14 - “Walk with Mary” - Join in the procession to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, departing at 11:30am from the Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Washington, DC.
Sunday, December 15 - Gaudete Sunday
Festival of Lessons & Carols, 7:30pm - Don't miss a traditional Advent highlight - an evening of music with the Schola Cantorum & Festival Singers, and readings of the season. Caroling and treats follow in the Great Hall.

Monday, December 16 to Tuesday, December 24 - Weekday Confessions, 11am - Noon
Two priests will be available for weekday Confessions from December 16 through Christmas Eve.

Monday, December 16 - Eucharistic Holy Hour, 6pm
 O come and adore the Blessed Sacrament, exposed on the main altar, with Confessions available during the hour!

Tuesday, December 17 - Advent Communal Penance Servic e , 12:10pm
"Come Home for Christmas" at our Penance Service with over a dozen priest confessors in multiple languages. No 11am Confessions or 12:10pm Mass .
Sunday, December 22 - Fourth Sunday of Advent
Family “Posadas” ("the Inns") Celebration, 10am
Commemorate the journey made by Joseph and Mary from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge for the birth of baby Jesus! Enjoy Spanish carols and refreshments in the North Conference Room.

Tuesday, December 24 - Daytime Masses on Christmas Eve
Masses are celebrated at 7am, 8am and 12:10pm. The rectory office closes at 2pm. See the Christmas Eve evening schedule, below.
