About Impact Lansing

Who: This camp is for exiting 6-8th graders (kids who were in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade during the 2024-25 school year)

Where: We all "camp out" the entire week at South Church.

When: July 13-19, 2025

What: Impact Lansing is a great combination of summer camp and service projects that takes place right here at South and in our Lansing community. Students will spend their mornings serving at different locations around Lansing, their afternoons in team competitions at the church, and their evenings in chapel. Come enjoy a week of relationship building, serving our community, and intense competition.

Cost: To grab the early bird price of $269, register before May 19. After May 19, the price will increase to $299. The cost is all-inclusive. If cost is an issue, please reach out to Joel about our scholarship fund.

Step 1: Register

Click the button below to register your student through the Impact Lansing website, and select South Church as the church they are attending with. You will also be given the chance to pay online. Once your student is registered, you will receive an email reminder from Jessica to submit the essay for Step 2.

DEADLINE FOR EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION: MAY 19

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: JUNE 22*

*but you will need to have essays submitted by May 30, so please think of May 30 as the deadline for South Church.

Step 2: Essay Application

Read through the essay information with your student and have them write their essay and submit to Jessica in person or by email at jdoerr@southlife.org.

Because we have limited space, we will process each essay as an application. Joel may reach out to have a conversation with your student about their essay. You will know the first week of June whether or not your student's essay was accepted. We will refund you if your student's essay is not accepted.

DEADLINE FOR ESSAY APPLICATIONS: MAY 30

Step 3: Sign Forms

Once your student is registered and their essay is accepted, you will need to complete these 3 steps:

  1. Pay (If you paid online, this is done. If you opted to submit a check through your church's youth pastor, you will need to send a check to Jessica. Make payable to: South Church.)
  2. Make sure your child has a current South Church Waiver Form
  3. Read through and sign the Expectation Agreement Form with your child. This is important to go over with your child to prepare them for the week.

Once these forms are signed, please send to Jessica (mail it, hand it to her, or put it in her mailbox at the church).

Step 4: Week-of Information

Check-in: Sunday, July 13 at 5 pm

Pick-up: Saturday, July 19 at 11 am (come at 10:30 for a slideshow of the week!)

Packing List: Click the link for the packing list. Please make sure to go over this with your student! We don't allow cell phones or smart watches. If you need to get in contact with your student, text or call Joel or Jessica.
