Gaeta Chairman's Award of Excellence
Kenneth R. Kennerly
Ken Kennerly is Executive Director of The Honda Classic and founder of K2 Sports Ventures.
After moving to South Florida in 1993 to work for Jack Nicklaus' Golden Bear International, Ken started International Golf Partners in 1996, and acquired Executive Sports, a company that ran tournaments on the PGA, LPGA and Champions Tours.
After taking over The Honda Classic in 2016, Ken and his team grew the event from 45,000 patrons at Mirasol to the more than 200,000 attendees that currently attend at PGA National. Ken not only re-established The Honda Classic as one of the top tournaments on the PGA TOUR but the event generated record charitable donations of over $3 Million and more than $40 million in economic impact for the local community each year.
The Honda Classic's Children's Healthcare Charity was established to contribute net proceeds from tournament and special event programs to South Florida 501(c)(3) organizations. The Charity is dedicated to providing financial resources to organizations that enhance the health and welfare of children in Palm Beach County and South Florida.
Through their primary beneficiary, the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation, the Charity supports activities that advance and enhance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of childhood diseases and disorders. It also supports over 100 additional not-for-profit organizations and programs aimed at pediatric health care and health-related services.
As a true champion of the economic vitality of Palm Beach North, as well as the welfare of South Florida's children, we congratulate Ken Kennerly as the recipient of the 2017 Gaeta Chairman's Award of Excellence!
