The weather is finally improving and there's so much to see at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center. From new exhibitions to a variety of art workshops and classes, you'll be inspired by artwork every time you visit.

Read on to learn about A Celebration of Art featuring students of the EGUSD, our Foyer Gallery exhibition of mixed media by Gerald Barnes, art workshops and much more!

First Saturday is February 4 from 4-7PM. Admission is FREE.

This month we're celebrating the artwork of local students in the Elk Grove Unified School District. Art students in grades 9-12 were invited to participate in this juried exhibition - an opportunity for them to show their work and build their artist resume.

The Center would like to thank Marcelle Wiggins who judged this show. Wiggins' artwork is influenced by traditional media and a digital art background. She has a Master of Fine Arts from San Francisco Art Institute and has lectured at Yuba Community College, Sierra College, Sacramento State, and more. She currently teaches Drawing and Color Theory at Cosumnes River College. Learn More >

The Center welcomes mixed-media portraiture artist Gerald Barnes to the Foyer Gallery in February. Born in Ireland, Barnes is a self-taught artist who has been collecting old photographs, stamps, banknotes, and more since an early age. His current work Layers of Life mimics the stages of life we have all gone through. Learn More >
